Job Description

Ahern, one of the leading mechanical and fire protection contractors in the United States, has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Project Manager for our St. Louis office. Building a first class reputation in the industry since 1880 did not happen by chance. It has developed over time through our commitment to conducting business ethically and by providing continuous learning, improvement and development opportunities for its number one asset, employees. You owe it to yourself to find out what Ahern has to offer!

How you will contribute:
Leverage your persuasion and relationship management skills through maintaining and growing a customer base throughout the St. Louis area. Apply your project management abilities through performing preliminary design and calculations for the bid estimates, preparing pricing for materials, labor, freight, and fabrication, seeking out competitive vendors and services to assure that Ahern’s fire protection projects are competitively bid. You will also be responsible for preparing scope and quotation letters for customers, maintaining monthly estimate logs, meeting with management on a regular basis to discuss current estimating backlog and due dates, participating in turnover meetings as required, and assisting with any follow-up information with the customer as is requested, assuming an active role in managing the projects in conjunction with the designer and construction superintendent.

What you need to qualify:
Ahern will make the most out of your five plus years of Sales and Project Management experience within the fire protection industry. You will stand out if you have prior experience in design, bidding work, and a strong understanding of estimating. Knowledge of how to calculate systems using HydraCalc is preferred. Must have excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. NICET certification is a plus.

What's in it for you?

Working for the 19th largest mechanical contractor in the United States comes with many perks. The Company has a commitment to excellence that extends beyond our outstanding customer satisfaction ratings and numerous safety awards.  The Company extends this commitment by passing a significant amount of profits back to employees through bonus programs, and generous 401K match. Ahern has a health benefits package that ranks in the top 25% of all plans nationally.  Ahern also has a wellness program that was designed to keep employees and their families happy and healthy.  Significant investment in employee training programs, advancement opportunities, educational assistance, and flexible work schedules have helped Ahern stand out above others in the industry.   Experience for yourself why Ahern has been voted the Best Place to Work!
