Ahern, one of the leading mechanical and fire protection contractors in the United States, has an exciting opportunity for a recent or upcoming May 2020 graduate working as an Assistant Project Manager in our Milwaukee office which focuses on plumbing, piping & HVAC projects throughout the six-county Milwaukee area. How you will contribute:

This is a great opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to on the job mechanical projects. You will play a key role in estimating and assisting with project managing HVAC and plumbing projects for customers in the Milwaukee regional area. You will estimate design build and plan spec mechanical projects; identify needed labor, determine the material and schedule requirements; collect and analyze job bid information; compute cost; present finalized estimates; and utilize QuickPen software for estimating the projects. You will be working alongside experienced Sales Project Managers. Strive to become an instrumental team member by identifying areas for improvement. You will be challenged to grow beyond your expectations in a team-oriented environment.

What you need to qualify:

Ahern will help make the most of your post-secondary education in Architectural, Mechanical, or Construction Management type programs. Strongly prefer candidates with 1+ years of related experience including internships. You must have a comfort in reading blueprints. You can stand out above other candidates by demonstrating the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment.  Knowledge of estimating software and AutoCAD is a plus.  A commitment to providing exceptional customer service, possessing strong written and verbal communication skills, and being able to execute tasks with a great amount of detail will be crucial.  If you are ready to demonstrate this expertise, Ahern wants you!
